Switched to VSCode
April 26, 2020
I’ve used Atom for over 3 years and loved every minute of it. Today while working on a JavaScript project I noticed how it lacked showing function definitions while hovering on the lines. It is a big deal for me since I’m used to working with TypeScript, which I absolutely find amazing. I had already downloaded VSCode a while ago but hadn’t really given it a try. As curious as I sometimes am I opened the project there and to my (great) surprise, this IDE had this functionality out of the box.
So I started looking for an Atom package for having the same behavior, but unfortunaly after 30 minutes or so, failed miserably. It was time to make a change.
It’s been great so far. It took me 5 minutes or so getting used to it and here I am writing this blog post in VSCode.
My first tattoo. Here using Atom in the background.
